My paintings begin with a curiosity about memory how the mind holds onto experiences, how they change over time, and what ultimately is remembered. Drawing on memory palace techniques, I return to lived experiences through fragments of color, atmosphere, texture, and feeling. I am interested in what remains: what the mind preserves, what it lets go, and how our memories continue to shift and shape the way we understand our experiences.
My work often draws from experiences of both natural and urban environments, particularly where harmony and tension coexist. Gestural marks coexist with areas that have been layered, scraped away, concealed, and reworked, allowing the surface to hold multiple moments at once. Forms emerge, disappear, and reappear, echoing the instability of recollection itself.
Through abstraction, I am interested in the space between lived experience and remembered experience. My paintings become a kind of internal geography, where disparate places and moments can exist simultaneously. What emerges is not a record of where I have been, but a visual language for how those places continue to inhabit me.
