My paintings begin with an inquiry into how memory, time, and material experience shape perception. Drawing on memory palace techniques, I return to lived experiences and translate the color, atmosphere, texture, and emotional resonance that remain after a moment has passed. Rather than depicting a specific place, I am interested in what memory chooses to preserve and how perception continues to shape our understanding of experiences over time.

The act of painting is where this inquiry unfolds. I explore how paint can hold different experiences of time simultaneously. Some marks arrive in seconds through intuitive, gestural movement, while others are buried beneath layers, scraped back, revised, or lived with for weeks before they reveal themselves. These shifting surfaces become records of accumulated time rather than illustrations of remembered places. As in life, there are experiences we conceal from ourselves or others that only reveal their meaning gradually. My paintings embrace that unfolding, allowing what is hidden to emerge through sustained looking and continued engagement with the work.

Much of my practice explores the dialogue between natural and urban environments, where harmony and tension coexist. Through patient layers of paint, I build and uncover surfaces that mirror the way memories accumulate, fade, and re-emerge. Each layer carries traces of what came before, allowing the painting to reveal itself gradually rather than arrive fully formed. Memory is not the subject of the work so much as the vehicle through which I investigate duration, perception, and change.

Color is the driving force of my practice. I am fascinated by its ability to shift perception, evoke emotion, and communicate beyond language. Through an ongoing inquiry into color, time, memory, and material process, I create abstract paintings that invite the viewer to pause, reconnect with their own experiences, and discover that the work continues to unfold the longer they remain with the artwork.
