Bio

Erin Dolan is an abstract painter, award-winning artist, and educator based in South Norwalk, Connecticut. Inspired by moments of observation in the natural world, her paintings transform lived experiences into layered abstractions, exploring what remains after a moment has passed and what memory chooses to keep. Through an ongoing inquiry into color, perception, and sensory experience, her work invites viewers to consider how place is felt long after it is seen.

Erin received a B.F.A. in Painting, Printmaking, and Sculpture with Departmental Distinction from Southern Methodist University and an M.A. in Art Education from New York University. She maintains a studio at Wilson Avenue Loft Artists, where she continues an active studio practice while exhibiting her work nationally. Her paintings are held in private collections throughout the United States and abroad.

Alongside her studio practice, Erin is an Upper School Visual Arts teacher at Rye Country Day School in Rye, New York, where she develops innovative approaches to creativity, artistic inquiry, and contemporary art education. She is the recipient of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards / Golden Paints Award, recognizing excellence as both an artist and educator, and a Cohen Fellowship for Excellence & Innovation, supporting her research into creativity, artistic practice, and teaching. Drawing on more than 25 years of experience as both an exhibiting artist and educator, Erin regularly leads workshops that help artists, educators, and creative professionals deepen observation, embrace experimentation, and cultivate sustainable creative practices.
